I’ve been planning early for Mother’s Day by planting some extra flower seeds (mostly marigolds) in little pots to give to my mother-in-law. Since they aren’t looking too great, I’d better start making other plans!

I’m very sad this week that our travel plans have changed and the kiddos won’t get to see their grandparents. The best remedy to cheer yourself up is to do something nice for someone else. So we’re having a giveaway…

Meal Plan Monday in MA

I’m not happy about summer weather taking over my spring time! Looks like a week to reheat meals from the freezer and cook in the toaster oven. Arghh, another week without the microwave! It’s fate is in the hands of the Geek Squad as they make good on their appliance extended warranty… hope it comes back soon!
Monday: Pork fried rice (with leftover pork & veggies)
Tuesday: Quiche (already made!) & salad
Wednesday: Bratwurst & potatoes
Thursday: chicken ceasar salad
Friday: Fishsticks & veggies
Saturday: Microwave meal while hubby is off playing games—no wait, I keep forgetting there is no micro!
Sunday: Leftovers

Menu Monday AK

Oh what a week we had last week! Two toddlers with every version of sickness between them (fever, ear infection, colds, and much more I won’t mention because this is supposed to be a post about food). My poor son- his third birthday was April 1st. He was so out of it most of the day and didn’t even want to eat any of his cake.
But I’m back on track for menu plans now! If you remember two weeks ago hubby was out of town so I endeavored to fill our freezer with ready made meals. This made last week easy and will make the coming two weeks easy as well (items in blue are from the freezer). You can find more menu plans, recipes and dinner ideas at OrgJunkie.
This Week
Monday- surf and turf barbeque with friends (flank steak, salmon, halibut)
Tuesday- spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, green beans
Wednesday- fajitas
Thursday- leftovers
Friday- dinner out
Saturday- salmon enchiladas
Easter Sunday:
Breakfast: eggs, sausage, hot cross buns, orange juice
Dinner: we are probably going out with friends, but if we were eating here this is what I’d make…ham, scalloped potatoes, bacon and carmelized onion asparagus, Parker House rolls, orange cream salad, and lamb cake
Next Week
Monday- Steak salad and baked potatoes
Tuesday- baked chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli
Wednesday- meatball sandwiches, baked beans
Thursday- Hamburger pizza ground beef, onions, jalapenos, tomatoes (on my half)
Friday- Girls night out! The boys are on their own.
Saturday- leftovers so the fridge is clean when we leave!

As I am trying to post my meal plan for the week, my three year old comes up to me to tell me he and his brother are going on a “abenchure”. “A what? An adventure?” I ask. “No,” he says, “say aBENchure.” “Oh, ok, have fun!” This got me thinking of all the silly mispronuciations he shares with me. I need to record them so I can remember them in 20 years!
