The premier weekend for Babies (the film that is!)  is finally here!

Psychology Today has a great review:

Have you seen the preview yet? I am very anxious to hear more about how children are raised in different cultures. I think this is going to be a fascinating film!

A Full Cup Shopping Lists

3 05 2010

Grocery Coupons at A Full Cup

Here’s one of my favorite frugal resources: A Full Cup! They have forums to discuss using coupons and rebates, as well as individual forums for a huge list of stores. I like to visit the forums for my local grocery stores, CVS, Walgreens, and even Target before going shopping to be sure I don’t miss any great deals. The forums are filled with friendly people helping make the most of store sales. In the Price Chopper forum, you’ll find a busy mom of two, massachoomommy, who likes to talk to herself; please say hello to her (me) when you visit!

She, like many other shopping list assistants, are busy coupon fairies, working weekly on shopping lists for all your favorite stores—so you don’t have to! All you have to do is select the items to purchase and print a personalized list. And another fun fact about the lists? They come with coupon-matchups!

I highly recommend this site for both the coupon camaraderie and a support network for sticking to your budget!

Babies: Premiering Mom’s Day W-End!

30 04 2010

I know many of you are moms chasing little ones around all the time, but why not follow four other babies around the world on their epic adventures of life? I’m looking forward to meeting this cutie from Mongolia, Bayarjargal. (Photo credit: Focus Features) This film premieres in theaters May 7th, this Mother’s Day weekend!

Everybody loves… BABIES. Coming to theatres this Mother’s Day Weekend (May 7th), this visually stunning new movie simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from first breath to first steps. From Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo, BABIES joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.

I first heard about this film as a Medela Mom Maven. Medela has also partnered with Focus Features and Babies; you can find out more about the film and enter their sweepstakes to win big prizes at I’ve also been asked as a BzzAgent to share the release of this unique film with you. How neat to see two different groups I belong to converging on an important topic!

Menu Plan Monday- AK

5 01 2010

It is a cold dark morning as I write this and all I want to plan for the week is macaroni and cheese and Christmas cookies!!!  Well, some pie might be OK too.  But in the spirit of the new year and because I have to wear a bathing suit in less than a month, I will plan somewhat healthier meals. Be sure to check out I’m an Org Junkie for more meal plans and some organizing ideas to help you with all your new year’s resolutions!

Monday:  Fred Meyer fried chicken (I know, not healthy, but it’s pretty expensive here so when there’s a sale we indulge!)
Tuesday:  tacos, cornbread
Wednesday:  chicken barley soup, fresh bread (or cornbread depending on time)
Thursday: chicken curry, rice
Friday: leftovers
Saturday: stew
Sunday: halibut, edamame rice

Now on to taxes!  My resolution this year is not to be the person in line at the post office at 8PM April 15th!  (I’m not that bad, but my goal is to be done by March.)

Have a great day and Happy New Year!!

Cattiwampus Unusual Gifts & Giveaway Link

25 11 2009

I just found this fun shop called Cattiwapmus via the As Good As Cake blog. I love indie stores! From their adorable clothing like these Robot Tees, to their fun games like Candy Dominoes, you’re bound to find more than one thing to “ooh and awwwh” over. Bean and Mighty Man could really use some new tableware like the Wheels Dish Set. The store also has a blog where you can read about their specials and new products.

As Good As CakeI highly recommend stopping by to see all the other the very unique and artistic ideas on her Holiday Giveaway list!

Gift Guides

16 11 2009

‘Tis the season for gift guides…

Hottest Holiday Toys From MamanistaMamanista has a list with some neat things for little kids I haven’t seen before. I think the Sprig Toys Adventures Dino Rescue Playset is my favorite from her list. She’s just started her 12 Days of Giveaways so you might win something from the list too!

I think little kids are easy to find interesting presents for, but I really need help with the tweens and teens on our list. Any ideas????

November 11- Happy Veteran’s Day

11 11 2009

I will be the first to admit I have little to no memory recall on events related to wars.  Being married to a military man, this gets me in trouble a lot!  So I won’t be completely out of the loop, today I looked up the history of Veteran’s Day.  Interesting article- I did know (maybe didn’t remember, but at once time I knew) that Veteran’s Day was because of the armistice in World War I (11th hour, 11th day, 11th month) but I didn’t know that the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier also began on Nov 11 two years later in 1921.

Next week I may not remember this stuff again, but I will remember that I am thankful for all who serve in the military, thankful for all the sacrifices made by our men and women (and of course their families) to make our country and our world a safer and better place.
